Meet Chandler Ross:

The Basics

Where are you from?

Nashville, TN

Do you have any pets?

Ari, half Scottie and half chihuahua rescue dog and Jeff Cooper, my turtle.

How do you spend your spare time?

I like to write funny things online, read, watch television and walk around. My new favorite thing to do is plan trips to TN towns without utilizing any freeways.

Describe yourself in five words

Ebullient, Obsessive, Curious, Empathetic and Analytic.

About Your Practice

Why did you become a therapist?

Eight years ago my dad took me around town and introduced me to a bunch of business guys because I wanted to “figure out what I’m supposed to be when I grow up.” I was more interested in the quality of the conversation than I was in the topic of conversation. Took me a few more years to figure out that I enjoy listening as much as talking.

What do you think is important for a client to look for in a therapist?

How does your faith play itself out in your work as a therapist?

Faith runs alongside the practical and throughout it.

What is your favorite type of music and your favorite singer/band?

Between 1960 and 1980, music was just better. To quote Jay Z, “People were writing Forever Music” (the idea that a song could still have impact 30 years later.) I think there is a song for every moment of every day; it’s just a matter of finding it.

Which TV show would you never miss?

Never miss? Golden Girls

What's your favorite book or author?

Right now it’s Patrick Rothfuss and “The Name of The Wind”

What is your favorite sport/physical activity?

Walking, making giant bubbles, flying kites, riding a bike but only to places like a coffee shop (no lycra ever needs to be involved in a bike ride).

What's your favorite place to visit?

Gulf Shores, AL with the family.

Just for Fun

What was your first job?

Jiffy Lube Oil Tech

What is your most treasured possession?

I mean, in a home fire situation, Wife and Dog. As long as they are okay, I’m okay, but that implies that I possess them which I don’t. Physical Possession? Probably this knife that a friend made for me by hand.

If you have friends coming over, what would you cook?

Taco Buffet Bar

What is a pastime or ritual you enjoy?

Book Club, all my buddies satiated after a good meal discussing the nuances of some nerdy topic and LAUGHING about it.

Other than your current home, if you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Somewhere on water, I would like to try living with a crazy view at some point in my life.
